Humanity Health Matters Organization

Is an independent, non-governmental, non-political, and not-for-profit organization established in 2019 and registered with Ministry of Economy (MoE) as Civil Society Organization (CSO) under License No. 4874. The head office of HHMO is situated in Kabul. HHMO has completed accreditation by Afghanistan Institute of Civil Society (AICS) and has received certification and excellence award for Human Resources Management and Financial Management. HHMO is also a member of Agency Coordinating Body for Afghan Relief and Development (ACBAR). HHMO is an active member of Health, FSAC, GBV, Child Protection, ES-NFI, WASH, Nutrition and Education Cluster. HHMO mission is to improve the health and well-being of vulnerable populations in Afghanistan through integrated programs in health, education, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), livelihood development, women empowerment, and child protection.

HHMO has extensive experiences, expertise and networks in the provision of health services, emergency response particularly trauma care, HIV/TB prevention, education, WASH, Livelihood, Women empowerment, child protection and promoting human rights with a focus on working with youth, children, women and conflict affected population. HHMO has implemented more than 10 projects since its establishment in 2019, mostly in the health sector, education, child protection, livelihood, GBV and has professional expertise in provision of health services, capacity building, community development and research and knowledge management. Its primary focus is to offer a range of services to marginalized Afghan population with focus on women, children and youths, Internally Displaced Peoples (IDPs), drought and conflict affected populations and other marginalized groups in the wider society. In 2023, HHMO reached over 50,000 direct and indirect beneficiaries in 8 provinces of the country.

HHMO boasts a strong local presence across Afghanistan, currently operating in 5 provinces. The organization employs over 50 full-time staff members and had an annual budget of $ 265,785 for the year 2023. HHMO maintains functional offices in 5 provinces, including: Kabul, Nangarhar, Herat, Balkh and Kandahar.

HHMO’s journey has enriched its understanding of the local context and strengthened its relationships with the communities it serves. Through dedicated efforts, HHMO has made significant strides in improving health, education and human right outcomes and fostering resilience within Afghan communities.
